Halloween Takes Over the Streets: Chinatown and Beyond

On This Day — October 28, 2026

News and commentary · Checked October 28, 2026

This Halloween, cars are making room for neighborhood celebrations through New York’s Trick-or-Streets program.

The program brings car-free Halloween and fall celebrations to streets and plazas across the five boroughs.

One option is in Chinatown: October 31, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m., on Mott Street between Canal and Bayard Streets.

There will be treats, entertainment and family activities.

This is part of knowing a neighborhood, too—knowing where people gather and what’s happening beyond the apartment door.

Check the organizers’ current event details before heading out; schedules can change.
