A neighborhood fighting for its movie theater tells you something about the place.
AMC is trying to keep its Kips Bay cinema open at 570 Second Avenue, between East 31st and East 32nd Streets.
The reported closing date is January 3, 2027, but AMC has proposed alternatives—including keeping a smaller theater within a future development.
There wasn’t a confirmed agreement in the report.
