Listing Standards
Clear, current listing information helps people compare homes and contact the right person. These standards describe the information contributors should provide and maintain.
Property and price information
- Identify the correct property and apartment in the listing record. Keep the location, layout and property type consistent with the source.
- Use a supported current price. Distinguish the advertised monthly rent from a net-effective calculation or other price basis. State the lease term and concessions when known.
- Describe availability accurately. Do not present an application, unavailable unit or old offer as a confirmed current opening.
- Do not guess missing details. Identify information that needs confirmation.
Images and contact details
- Use images you are authorized to publish and match actual photographs to the correct property or apartment.
- Clearly label virtual staging, renderings and conceptual illustrations. Do not present them as verified photographs.
- Keep the listing contact and inquiry destination accurate.
- Keep private access codes, residents’ contact details and internal showing instructions out of public descriptions.
Updates and corrections
Review changed rents, availability and material details promptly. Avoid duplicate or misleading advertisements. To request a correction, send the listing URL and supporting information to info@straightforwardlistings.com.
